Following the success of our past Conferences in 2014 and 2015, the FBN Ireland Board is delighted to host our 2017 Conference, “Family Passion for Business: optimising performance in an uncertain world”. The conference will take place in Clayton White’s Hotel on Friday 6th October with registration opening on the day at 10:30 am, and will be followed by a Gala Dinner and overnight.
Our recent event at the Aviva Stadium saw senior and next generations square off to each other on the topic of getting the succession conversation started. Facilitated by Ken McCracken of KPMG, together we explored a number of ways to get the generations talking and engaged, being the necessary first step towards working together on the future of your family and business. This was the first of our planned annual intra-generational events where we want to encourage and facilitate interaction and challenge between the generations.
The Board and team at FBN are pleased to present the forthcoming FBN Ireland Conference, 2017, which will take place on 6th October next in Wexford. This day-long event gives members the opportunity to hear from national and international speakers, participate in discussions on topics specific to family business and to network with other family business owners. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to introduce both new family members and/or senior members of your management teams to the Family Business Network and is intended to foster exchange not only between families but also within families.
At our April event we heard that a family Constitution is a “document for guidance, not a document to hide behind”. Over 70 members and prospective members attended our recent event “Family Business – an outsiders’ perspective” hosted by KPMG, with Chris Martin (CEO Musgrave Group) as our guest speaker.
I am delighted to bring you our first monthly FBNeNews for you the members of FBN Ireland. Our intention is to update you on key family business developments, provide information on forthcoming FBN events and initiatives, highlight and give you access to new reports in the area of family business and finally to request input from you, the members, on our progress and plans.
FBN eNews will help you get the most out of your membership. We also want to hear any ideas you have for improving FBN Ireland. FBN eNews will cover. Information on planned events for both the senior and next generation groups. Get to know and network with other members. We’ll have lots of photos of recent events.
